The Scottish green ogre returns to theaters this Friday! Come for the highly-anticipated animation of comedy - stay for Eric, the illustrious voice of the famed wizard Merlin! The newest installment in the Shrek series premieres on the 18th of May for the US, the 29th of June for the UK, and the 7th of June for Australia. ((For more release dates, check here.)) It is expected to be a smashing hit with ticket sales going through the roof, so if you plan on going to opening day, you'd be well advised to order your tickets ahead of time!
Eric attended the official Los Angeles premiere of Shrek The Third (also simply dubbed as 'Shrek 3'), and a couple of photos of his appearance can be seen in the Gallery.
In other Eric news, Not The Messiah has already been given a second nod and wink, as it has landed a spot at the Kanonah, New York Caramoor Festival. It is set to play on July 1st of this year at the Venetian Theatre, starring Eric as the narrator of the oratorio, as well as a soloist. There are two set performances - one for 3:30 PM, and one for 7:30 PM. If you're interested in checking out Eric's newest endeavor, tickets are already on sale! For tickets and more information, check out The Official Caramoor Site.
Last but not least, back on April 23rd, a rather massive group of Londoners gathered together to play 'Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life' at Trafalgar Square with coconuts to break the previous world record for the largest coconut orchestra (previously set in New York at the Shubert Theatre a little over a year ago). They broke the record by far, raising the bar from the previous number of 1,789 people to 5,567!
If you're a fan of Eric and have not yet joined the Fanlisting, then you should! It has been given a very spiffy (desperately-needed) renovation. Check it out if you're not yet an official member! ((Please note that the Fanlisting is not the same as the SPAM Club!))
In a bit of bad news, as of right now, the forum is down. I do not know why or what happened. There are some major database problems that may or may not be fixable. I'm doing the best I can to get it up and running again. Check the tagboard for an update when it's up and running again! I apologize for any inconvienences.
Icons, icons, icons galore! Yes, a grand total of 82 new Icons And Avatars have been added to the site to display on your Livejournals, blogs, websites, whatever! Enjoy them - and thanks so much to all those fabulous icon makers who create these wonderful mini pieces of art!

Back on March 31st, The Grail Theatre officially opened with a bang! Many celebrities flocked to the Wynn Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada to laugh themselves silly at the Vegas production of Spamalot. Just a couple of notable names who attended were fellow Pythons John Cleese and Terry Gilliam and Eric's good friend Robin Williams. The show is doing well thus far, receiving high marks from critics. Congrats to Eric for yet another Spamalot success! On a completely different vein, there is a new rumor afoot! Eric mentioned in an interview just recently that he was working on an album for Sara Ramirez (who was the original Lady of the Lake). What exactly this entails and what kind of album it is remains a total mystery, let alone when it will be released. For now, until further information is disclosed, it shall remain as a rumor - but it's something to think about, that's for sure!
Pictures pictures pictures... you can never have too many pictures! That's why71 new photos have been added to the Gallery! They include...

Happy Fourth Birthday Idleized Heaven!Four years ago today IH was created. I can hardly believe that it's been four years already of laboring on this place - but it's been a labor of love. It's nice to sit back and see how it's grown and changed throughout time. I only hope that we still have many years left in us and that we will continue to be your source for all things Eric Idle!
Sadly, I wasn't able to do as big of a 'birthday bash' as I normally do due to a lot of time constraints as of late. However, fret not - there are still some goodies in store!
There's a bit of news pertaining to "'Not The Messiah" (which has been legthened out to "He's Not The Messiah, He's A Very Naughty Boy") today. Eric has recently made some comments concerning his newest piece of work, saying that it is coming along well and will be 'very, very funny'. However, the most interesting news he let slip is that Eric himself will be performing in the oratorio! What role he will have is unknown, but this now means live performances from Mr. Idle once more!
Eric will also be making his fourth appearance on The Simpsons as his character Declan Desmond on Sunday, February 18th on the Fox channel for the episode "Springfield Up". The description of the episode is as follows: Eccentric documentary filmmaker Declan Desmond returns with his new film 'Growing up Springfield'.
